Common Mac Keyboard Shortcuts
These commands will work in most Mac programs. There's always a few exceptions, but in general, the operating system is quite standardized. That's one of the main reasons that the Mac is a superior machine.
The Command key is found just to the left of the space bar and has an Apple logo on it.
- Command-A = Select All
- Command-O = Open File
- Command-N = New File
- Command-S = Save File
- Command-F = Find
- Command-P = Print
- Command-X = Cut to Clipboard
- Command-C = Copy to Clipboard
- Command-V = Paste from Clipboard
- Command-Z = Undo Last Move
- Command-Q = Quit Current Application

If none of the above is effective, pull the power plug. (Your Mac will complain about this when it comes up again.)
- Command-Period
= "Program, stop what you are doing"- Command-Option-Escape
= "Program, quit immediantly without saving"- Command-Control-StartKey"
